Congratulations on your purchase of this beautiful and unique item. We thank you for your trust and for your engagement in our ethical and responsible brand. You have just acquired a quality accessory made from a vegetal material, Piñatex. It is a natural textile and thus each item is unique. Just like high-quality leather, your Piñatex handbag or accessory will evolve and soften with time.
Allure Sauvage is committed to designing and producing high quality products. If you treat your accessory well, we guarantee that you will be able to keep and cherish it your whole life. Your item is crafted from Piñatex, a new, and resistant vegan textile.
Piñatex is different in every respect from animal leather: in ethics obviously, but also in the care and maintenance of the material. Over time, natural changes will appear on your accessory due to the fibers of the pineapple leaves. Here are some hints how to help it age gracefully with character.
If this is your first acquisition of a plant-based object, we strongly recommend that you read this guide, which will allow you to keep your accessory in top condition for as long as possible. We wish to emphasize that the storage, maintenance and the care which you will bring to your Allure Sauvage goods determine their lifespan, and keep them looking fabulous, longer.
How to care for my Allure Sauvage item?
To allow your Piñatex product to become waterproof, we recommend the application of a waterproofing spray. We also can recommend using natural and colorless wax for the care of your Piñatex products. This will allow you to avoid unintentionally staining your product. With the help of a soft cloth, penetrate the product in the textile by making circular movements on the entire surface to be treated to allow a complete and homogeneous absorption. Then let the material dry naturally for 24 hours. Subsequently, the wax can be gently removed with a dry cloth or a soft brush.
Some people have already tried varnishes for the maintenance of animal leather and have had positive results with Piñatex. However, since the materials are totally different from each other, we invite you to take all your precautions if you want to test this kind of varnish.
How do I store my Allure Sauvage accessory when I’m not wearing it?
Allure Sauvage accessories are sold with their organic cotton pouches. The pouches are essential to safely store your products when they are not worn. Also store it in a temperate, dry place and sheltered from strong lights and the sun.
My Piñatex item and water?
Piñatex is a water-resistant material, but is not waterproof: while you can safely carry your gear in the rain, we encourage you to protect it from heavy showers. If necessary, do not hesitate to wipe it gently with a soft cloth. We strongly advise against soaking your product intentionally in water, which could lead to irreversible damage. To allow your Piñatex product to become waterproof, we recommend the application of a waterproofing spray.
My Piñatex item and the sun?
Piñatex is heat-resistant. However, Ananas-Anam recommends not to leave Piñatex in a place where the temperature exceeds 100 ° C. To better preserve the colors of your products, we advise you not to expose your bag in full sun for an extended period of time (in full sun, bay window, heater) as this may lead to discoloration. When not worn, we invite you to keep it in the shade of a wardrobe or dressing room, protected by its dustbag.
My Piñatex item and stains?
If your accessory has a stain, we recommend using a soft cloth moistened with mid-warm or warm water and mild soap while gently rubbing the area. After applying water to your Piñatex product, let it dry naturally without exposing it to too much heat. Too much heat could result in irreversible damage. We also recommend using natural and colorless wax for the care of your Piñatex products. This will allow you to not “aggress” or unintentionally tint your product. With the help of a soft cloth, penetrate the product in the textile by making circular movements on the entire surface to be treated to allow a complete and homogeneous absorption. Then let the material dry naturally for 24 hours. Subsequently, the wax can be gently removed with a dry cloth or a soft brush.
What is prohibited for my Piñatex accessory?
Some products can mark the material indelibly. To avoid any risk of accident, we recommend you to be vigilant with:
- Fatty products: make-up, creams, shoe polish…
- Chemicals: drinks, perfume, nail polish…
- Liquid products: cleaning products, alcohol…
In addition, repeated contact with certain dark materials may change the color of your product. It is even more necessary not to overload your bag or cover and to avoid inappropriate contents.
My accessory is damaged, what should I do?
